When exactly did the term “Freedom of Speech” stop meaning the right to express an alternative vision for the best way to manage and develop a society and instead become a desperate defence for any fool or cynical self-promoter who can’t stop themselves spewing ignorant, offensive and cowardly bile that diminishes the utterer as much as it nauseates the audience?
